Last week in Canberra, 9 of our Friday night players proudly represented Victoria in the Ivor Burge Championships.
In Victoria A (a great initiative from BV to allow our younger players to gain some tournament experience) Jack Lew-Kee, Oscar Savage and Adam Horne had a tough week with injury troubles throughout the week – but the guys did a fantastic job and came 6th in the Championships. Invaluable experience for these future stars.
In the Women’s Championship, Evie Patterson, Sam Williver, Jasmine Dallas and Montana Haag-Witherden had a sensational week of games, winning all their match ups during the week. In the very tough Grand Final game NSW Country proved to be too much for the Victorian team, but the Vic’s should be very proud of their efforts.
In the Men’s Championship, Frazer Dawber and Luke Nicholls once again represented Victoria with terrific performances throughout the week. In the Grand Final game, SA and a very loud contingent of their supporters won the day by a small margin. Fantastic game and a great effort by Frazer and Luke.
