At the Basketball Victoria Annual Awards dinner on Tuesday night (29th April, 2014), Vern Tessier was recognised for his long commitment to basketball disability programs and was awarded the 2013 Volunteer of the Year award.
Now well past 25 years old, the Victorian Championship Competition for Players with an Intellectual Disability was founded by Vern and Paul Dunn back in 1987.
Next time you see Vern at the stadium, you might want to say THANKS for the many thousands of hours he’s put in to making sure we all enjoy our basketball every week.
