The Power Assist Board has appointed Sally Duncan to the role of Chair.  Sally has been the Director of Administration for Power Assist since its inception in 2001. She has been a key contributor to the Victorian Championship competition (our Friday night basketball) for 23 years.  She was team manager for the Victorian Men’s and Women’s State teams at the Ivor Burge Championships for 10 years and currently is the Manager for the Australian Pearls, a position held for 20 years.  Sally is a member of the Basketball Australia Hall of Fame.

Power Assist recently celebrated the 30 year anniversary of the Victorian Championship competition (that’s a lot of Friday night games of basketball) and then Chairman, David McFarlane spoke proudly of the history and success of the competition, and the commitment of the board members.  Sadly David passed away soon after in December 2017.  David’s legacy is a financially sound, properly governed board with a great group of committed and progressive board members, who all understand the importance of Power Assist and the competition, and the role basketball plays in developing self-esteem and confidence within our community.

Sally plans to provide regular updates on the activities of the Board, throughout the year.  Sally’s appointment is effective immediately for a term of up to 3 years.
